Role and Responsibilities:

As a Retail Assistant, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the store's operations, including front-facing customer service and support. As such, you’ll be expected to undertake tasks such as:

  • Basic house keeping: Keeping the store clean and tidy, and ensuring all products and display areas are well-maintained.
  • Cashiering: Managing sales transactions, including cash and credit card payments, inventory audits and related record-keeping.
  • Checking on stock availability: Staying up to date on stock levels, helping customers find the products they’re looking for, and handling any stock discrepancies.
  • Attend to customer product related enquiries: Providing excellent customer service by assisting customers with purchasing decisions, handling queries, and making recommendations.
  • Skills and Requirements:

    While no prior experience is necessary, there are several essential skills that will ensure your success in this role, including:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate and engage with customers, colleagues and suppliers in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Organizational and attention to detail skills: Being able to manage multiple tasks effectively and accurately, while paying attention to details.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to quickly identify and resolve problems that may arise during the course of your work, including handling customer complaints or lost or stolen items.
  • Conflict resolution skills: Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional and tactful manner, ensuring the safety and comfort of all parties involved. In addition, it would be helpful to have experience in retail and customer service, although it is not essential. Since you may be required to work any rotating shifts, flexibility and willingness to work on weekends or public holidays is also necessary.

    Pay Rate, Schedule, and Specific Requirements:

    Applicants should note that this role is a 5-day job, with hourly pay rates of $12 on weekdays and weekends, and $24 on public holidays. The role requires a minimum commitment of 2 months, and Retail Assistants are expected to be able to pick a work location that suits their needs and schedule.     Location:

    Location flexibility is provided with these Fashion Retail Jobs, and candidates can select from either Chinatown or Orchard locations.

    Pay Rate:

    Hourly pay rates are $12 on weekdays and weekends, and $24 on public holidays.

    Schedule:

    Full-time job with a fixed 5-day workweek, and available to work any rotating shifts from 9 am – 10 pm as determined by supervisor/manager.
